Manohar Parrikar dies at 63: Amitabh Bachchan leads Bollywood in saying we will miss you

After a long struggle with pancreatic cancer, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar died on Sunday at 6.40 pm. A widower, Parrikar is survived by his two sons and their families.
The nation has gone into mourning ever since the news of his death was announced. Bollywood celebrities expressed their grief on social media.
Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, "Manohar Parrikar CM of Goa, passes away .. a gentle , soft spoken simple minded person .. respected .. fought his illness with dignity and great spirit .. had on a few occasions spent some time with him .. a soft smile always adorned his face .. sad with the news .."
Nimrat Kaur wrote, "Deepest condolences on the very saddening demise of Manohar Parrikar ji. My prayers and strength to all his loved ones."
Yami Gautam wrote, "Condolences and strength to the family of Manohar Parrikar ji ! Deeply saddened to hear about his demise ! May his soul rest in peace."
Comedian-actor Vir Das wrote, "Manohar Parrikar always came accross as one of the more level headed and decent politicians in the country. Rest in Peace sir."
The Centre has declared national mourning on Monday to grieve his death. National flags will fly at half-mast in Delhi and across the capitals of all the states and union territories.
Parrikar's last rites will be held in Panjim on Monday and eminent political leaders of the country are expected to reach Goa for the rites.
