Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar are set to bring the story of Shooter Dadis to the big screen with their upcoming film Saand Ki Aankh. Based on octogenarian sharpshooters, Chandro Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakshi Tomar from Uttar Pradesh, Saand Ki Aankh tells the story of two women who learnt shooting at the age of 60. Now, Taapsee and Bhumi have stepped into their shoes for the screen adaptation of the real-life story.
Taapsee Pannu took to social media to share the first look poster of Saand Ki Aankh. She wrote, "They challenged their age, fought their way and shot to fame in the shooting game. First Look Out Now. #SaandKiAankhThisDiwali."
Dressed in ghagra and shirt, Taapsee and Bhumi are seen taking an aim with their rifles.
Producer Anurag Kashyap shared another poster of the film and wrote, "Here it is bullseye Saand Ki Aankh."
Taapsee had earlier revealed that it was one of the most difficult films of her career. She had said, "It has been an intense experience. I feel it is one of the most difficult roles of my career. I don't know how I am going to do it so, I am taking each day as it comes and trying to give my best."
It is for the first time that Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu will share the screen space.
Director Tushar Hiranandani is all praise for her leading ladies. "Both Bhumi and Taapsee have put their heart and soul into the characters right from the initial prep to the training and their looks. The film is the perfect platform for them to reach their true potential as powerhouse performers," he said.
The film is set to hit the screens this Diwali.
