Remember the infamous press conference of 2003 when Vivek Oberoi accused Salman Khan of drunkenly calling him 41 times in the night and threatening to kill him? This very press conference almost brought Vivek's Bollywood career to a halt.
It's been 16 years since the episode, but Vivek Oberoi is still seeking forgiveness from Salman Khan.
In a recent interview to an entertainment website, Vivek was asked if Salman Khan was given a truth serum, what would he ask him. To which, Vivek replied, ''Do you truly believe in forgiveness?''
Going by Vivek's comment, it seems he is still not over that incident and wants to mend his relations with the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam actor.
Back in the day, Vivek Oberoi was reportedly in head over the heels in love with Aishwarya Rai and also shared the screens with her in Kyun! Ho Gaya Na in 2004.
Apparently, the brewing romance between the two, did not go down well with Salman Khan, who dated Aishwarya in the late 90s.
For the starters, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's love affair reportedly begun from the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999.
Later, Aishwarya started dating Vivek but after the much-controversial press conference, the actress washed her hands off and called it quits for his rash move.
In the 2003 press conference, Vivek claimed that Salman called him names, however, the Bharat actor denied it. Many years later, Vivek apologised to Salman at many occasions. Even on Farah Khan's chat show Tere Mere Beech Mein, Vivek had said that he regret calling that press conference.
The actor revealed that the controversy cost him a huge deal in Bollywood and he became an outcast in the industry overnight.
On the work front, Vivek is returning to Bollywood with Omung Kumar's PM Narendra Modi.
The film is a biopic on the incumbent prime minister. PM Narendra Modi biopic was set to hit the screens on April 11, but the Election Commission stalled the release of the film till Lok Sabha elections.
Salman Khan, on the other hand, is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Bharat.
