
In 2007, Basir Ahamad had been arrested in an encounter with Delhi Police, however, he was acquitted by a lower court.
The Delhi Police have arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist from Srinagar, it said on Tuesday.
According to Sanjeev Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell, the terrorist has been identified as Basir Ahamad, carrying a reward of Rs 2 lakh.
In 2007, Basir Ahamad had been arrested in an encounter with Delhi Police, however, he was acquitted by a lower court.
He was later sentenced by the High Court but was out on bail and had not been appearing in court since then.
Post this the court issued a non-bailable warrant against Basir Ahamad, leading to the Delhi Police arresting him on Tuesday.
Delhi Police has also arrested two of his accomplices -- Faiz and Majid Baba.
