Vikas Bahl's Super 30 has been made tax-free in Bihar by the state government. The state's Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi announced on Monday that no entertainment tax will be levied from the film in Bihar.
Super 30, which hit the screens on July 12, is based on the life of Patna-based mathematician and teacher Anand Kumar. The teacher runs a coaching programme called Super 30 for underprivileged students to prepare them for IIT entrance exams.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar watched the film on Friday in a screening that was attended by Anand Kumar as well. Hrithik Roshan thanked the ministers on Twitter. He wrote, "This is amazing Anand Sir thank you CM @NitishKumar ji and Deputy CM @SushilModi ji for this."
The mathematician also took to Twitter to thanks the CM and Deputy CM of Bihar for making the film tax-free in the state. He tweeted, " Thanks a lot to CM Nitish Kumar ji and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi ji making Super 30’ tax free. It will help more and more people see the film."
The film is being appreciated by the audience as it managed to mint Rs 50.76 crore in first three days of its release. It opened with Rs 11.83 crore and went on to earn Rs 18.19 crore and Rs 20.74 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
According to Box Office India, the movie’s growth on Sunday was limited because of the England vs New Zealand ICC World Cup 2019 final match as well as the 2019 Wimbledon final.
Talking about why he chose Hrithik Roshan to play his role in the film, Anand Kumar, in an earlier interview with India Today, said, "The way Hrithik showed his happiness and excitement after meeting me, I felt like he is such a big star, he will definitely give his 100 per cent to the film. And I knew, if he dedicates himself [to the film], things will be aptly shown on the big screen. His willingness to do the film was commendable."
Directed by Vikas Bahl, Super 30 also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Mrunal Thakur, Aditya Srivastava, Amit Sadh and Nandish Sandhu, among others in pivotal roles.
