Celebrations ran late into the night as Team India players partied hard after their first ever Test series win over Australia in Sydney on Monday.
Opener KL Rahul posted a couple of pictures from the party with captain Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma, Hardik Pandya and others.
India crushed Australia 2-1 in the Border-Gavaskar series after the fourth and final Test ended in a draw in Sydney. Thunderstorms and bad weather conditions in the city robbed India of a chance to push for their third win in the series but the players weren't complaining after the match was called off on the fifth day.
Kohli became the first Indian captain to win a series in Australia as he lifted the Border-Gavaskar trophy, which India retained after their win in the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne last week.
The players seemed in high spirits as they posed for the pictures which Rahul posted on Twitter and captioned it, "About Last Night! #Fam".
India needed 10 wickets to wrap up their third win of the series but were unable to do so as rain came to Australia's rescue after they were asked to follow-on by Virat Kohli on Day 4.
Replying to India's first innings score of 622 for 7 declared, Australia were bowled out for 300 on Sunday which gave India a 322-run cushion as they asked the hosts to bat again, becoming the first team in 31 years to enforce the follow-on against Australia in Australia since England, who did it in 1988.
The series win was largely set up by India's fast bowlers who bagged a total of 51 wickets in the four matches with Australia getting bowled out 7 times out of 8 during the series.
Jasprit Bumrah finished as the highest wicket taker from either side with 21 wickets, while Mohammed Shami managed 16 and Ishant Sharma got 11. Umesh Yadav picked up two wickets in the lone Test he played in Perth.
Spin-twins Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin got 7 and 6 wickets respectively while Kuldeep Yadav bagged 5 wickets in the Sydney Test, the only match he featured in the series.
The focus now shifts to the three-match ODI series against the Aussies which starts from January 12 in Sydney. India made a change in its squad on Tuesday by resting Jasprit Bumrah for this series and the limited-overs series against New Zealand.
Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was named a replacement for Bumrah while Siddharth Kaul was included in the T20I squad for the New Zealand series.
