4 days into poll code, Rs 30 crore cash, 13kg gold, liquor seized in Andhra Pradesh

It has only been four days since the Election Commission announced the Lok Sabha poll schedule. In Andhra Pradesh, the EC has seized Rs 30 crore cash, 13 kg gold, 30kg silver and liquor worth Rs 1.3 crore in these four days.
The Law and Order authorities reportedly seized over Rs 30 crore cash in just two days after the model code of conduct (MCC) came into effect.
Authorities said liquor worth over Rs 1.31 crore has been recovered in special vehicle checks and related drives.
The election commission has deployed 6,600 flying squads, 6,160 static surveillance teams, video surveillance teams to ensure fair assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the state.
The law and order authorities have, meanwhile, set up 31 border check posts, 46 temporary posts, 18 mobile party check posts.
Andhra Pradesh (25 parliamentary constituencies) is going to polls in the Phase 1 of the Lok Sabha election on April 11.
